LA MADDALENA: The largest island in the La Maddalena National Park
You can visit the city of La Maddalena during the fourth stop. This small seaside resort is a beautiful and colorful city, where you will find many gift shops, cafes, restaurants and ice cream parlors, it is very nice to walk along the harbor and its narrow streets. In the evening, during the high season, the city becomes quite lively!
The 20 km long panoramic road that goes around the island is the best way to see all the most beautiful places in La Maddalena. You will also find many beautiful viewpoints along the way. Among the most famous beaches on the island of La Maddalena we have:
Tegge Beach an enchanting place with rocks in the water. It is also very photogenic.

The island is counterpointed by numerous forts built by the Piedmontese to dominate the territory and to protect themselves from Tunisian raids and French naval attacks, including the fort of La Guardia, located in one of the highest points of the island, from which to contemplate a 360 degree view, S. Andrea, Carlo Felice, Santa Teresa, Punta Tegge. After Napoleon's defeat, the Piedmontese moved the fleet to Genoa and the Maddalenini's activities were concentrated on fishing and granite extraction.
